Carmelo Anthony is responding in court after a woman obtained a temporary restraining order against him over stalking allegations.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the woman, identified as Cheryl, claimed Anthony stalked her and took her children. She also alleged he threatened to shoot her and her family after she said she no longer wanted a relationship with him. A judge granted her a temporary restraining order until a hearing.
Anthony denies all of it. In a declaration filed with the court, he said he has never met the woman and called her claims “very strange” and “utter nonsense.” He also asked the court to recognize that she may need help, according to The Blast.
At the hearing on Tuesday, the court ruled that Anthony’s declaration was faulty because it was missing a date, so the order was not lifted. A new hearing is set for later this month, and the temporary order stays in place until then. These are allegations only, and no court has made any finding about whether they are true.
