Back in 2014, rising Hip-Hop star Bobby Shmurda, whose real name is Ackquille Pollard, was arrested and slapped with a slew of charges, including conspiracy to commit murder.

The Brooklyn-bred rapper, and 14 others, including Pollard’s brother Javese and labelmate, Rowdy Rebel, had been under investigation for their gang affiliations long before Pollard’s catapult to fame.

But, upon his increase in popularity surrounding his hit, “Hot Nigga,” officials were able to close in the young boys, using the incriminating lyrics as evidence “of what they were doing on the street.”

Now though, after four years behind bars on a seven-year sentence, which was reduced to five for time served, the rapper’s mother, Leslie Pollard says her son will be free within the next two years.

“One of those mornings but the time is ticking 25 months he will be here soon,” she wrote on Instagram, revealing her son would be released by November 2020.

In the meantime, the rapper’s next parole hearing is set to take place August 2020, so it’s safe to say, if all goes well, Bobby will be shmurda dancing to the studio in no time.
