Floyd Mayweather has been hit with a federal lawsuit after reneging on a promise to fund a shoe line back in 2014.

In court documents obtained by the Blast, Toren Washington claims he met the undefeated boxer in the summer of 2014 in Chinatown in Las Vegas, where the two discussed the idea of a shoe line. Washington says he “invented and designed sixty-seven patterns of footwears,” most of which were inspected by Mayweather, who then verbally agreed to fund production and marketing for the new deal.

After the verbal agreement, Washington says Mayweather asked him for the designs to move forward with the business venture to which Washington agreed. A short time later, a rep for Mayweather’s company informed Washington that he would soon be flown out to Vegas to iron out the details of the contractual agreement in regards to production, marketing and percentage of profit sharing, but the time never came.

Now, four years later, Washington is looking to be reimbursed, as he claims Mayweather backed out of their deal and never even returned the designs. As a result, Washington is suing for unspecified damages and the return of his designs, as he accuses Mayweather of fraud.
