Over the weekend, UFC fighter Rachael Ostovich was hospitalized after being beaten to a pulp in an incident that occurred in Honolulu, Hawaii.
In the incident, according to TMZ, Ostovich suffered a broken orbital bone, which is located around the eye socket, in addition to other “major injuries” that resulted in her hospitalization.
Although further details remain unclear, Honolulu police tell TMZ that a felony domestic violence investigation has been opened in regards to the matter, which means the assailant is likely someone close to her. However, no arrests have been made.
In the meantime, the incident comes just months before Ostovich was scheduled to face off against Paige VanZant at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, in what would have been a big moment in the rising star’s career. But now, with the injury, according to TMZ, the fight could be called off.
