A guidance counselor at James M. Bennett High School in Wicomico County, Maryland, has been arrested and charged with multiple sex crimes involving students, according to local outlets WBOC and WMDT.
Allen, 32, faces 15 charges, including second degree rape, fourth degree sex offenses and child pornography offenses, according to reports. Authorities say the case began after a student came forward in late December, and that investigators identified other students from photos on his phone. The students have not been named.
Wicomico County Public Schools Superintendent Donna Hanlin said the district is cooperating fully with law enforcement and that Allen was placed on administrative leave while the criminal investigation continues. She told Delmarva Now that the district’s first priority is the safety and well being of its students and staff.
The charges are allegations. Allen appeared in District Court, and no plea or trial outcome had been reported at the time of this post.
