Hopes of returning back to the team are high for Patriots’ Josh Gordon.
It’s known that Gordon has suffered from mental health and substance abuse problems for many years. Despite his issues though, the wide receiver was welcomed to the New England team in September. But now, recent samples of diluted drug tests have him in hot water.
Although he’s currently facing “an indefinite suspension for violating the terms of his reinstatement into the NFL,” according to NESN, the team believes a return is still possible.
The sports page reported the Patriots, the NFL, and the NFL Players Association are paying for their teammate’s inpatient treatment in a Gainesville, Florida facility.
There haven’t been any official statements yet, but it’s reported that Gordon is making good on his time in the facility by actively working out. In addition to that, if the Patriots happen to win the big game, Gordon will still receive a ring.
