Last week, attorney Michael Avenatti announced a new development in the longstanding investigation into R. Kelly’s alleged history of physical, verbal and emotional abuse of young and underage girls. In his statement, Avenatti said he had turned over a new tape – different than the one that surfaced in 2002 – that showed Kelly allegedly having sex with a young girl, who referred to her private parts as 14-years-old.
But now, in another new groundbreaking development, Avenatti claims he’s been made aware of a third tape that allegedly shows the self-proclaimed Pied Piper having sex with an underage girl.
“Update: We have become aware of the existence of a third tape, that allegedly shows further acts of sexual abuse of an underage girl by R. Kelly,” Avenatti said in a statement, according to Newsweek. “We are presently working to recover and turnover to law enforcement. Due to the importance of ensuring justice is finally done in this matter and because we are deeply concerned that Mr. Kelly has not been held accountable for his sexual abuse of young African-American girls, whom are especially vulnerable, we have done so on a pro bono basis.”
In addition to the new information about the new tape, Avenatti also claimed to have uncovered new evidence of how Kelly secured his 2008 acquittal on child porn charges.
“We have discovered substantial evidence that he and certain enablers engaged in systematic witness intimidation, evidence tampering, physical threats and payments to witnesses. They rigged the trial,” he said.
However, Kelly’s lawyer, who was not involved in the original case, said the trial claims are baseless, according to TMZ.
