Last month, Wendy Williams returned to her namesake talk show after a two-month long hiatus, plagued by rumors of self-medicating, drug abuse and her husband, Kevin Hunter’s infidelity. But, upon her return, Williams denied rumors of marital issues, and instead, opened up about her struggles with substance abuse.
However, as the host played it cool on camera, reports revealed Williams’ personal life was falling apart behind the scenes. In fact, after the birth of Hunter’s alleged love child, sources said Williams was hospitalized after relapsing over the news.
Since then, Williams has been spotted both with and without her ring and with and without Hunter, as recent reports revealed she’d been looking into her options for divorce. But, according to Page Six, sources say if the two go through with the divorce, Williams may finally find out just how much money her husband’s been spending on his mistress of over 10 years. But, the discovery could also work in Williams’ favor, if it proves to be an outrageous amount.
“If Kevin is this baby’s father, it affects things,” a top divorce lawyer told the publication. “If he spent a lot of money on this woman, a judge can concede that’s a wasteful dissipation [spending marital funds in a frivolous manner].”
“One would likely buy the other out as part of a divorce settlement,” he added, highlighting the fact that the two own Wendy Williams Productions. “Obscene spending that the wife knows about is just too bad for her. Obscene spending that has been hidden could signal a wasteful dissipation.”
