The Baller Alert Show, featuring your lifestyle specialist Kenny Burns, with Ferrari Simmons and Su Solo, kicked off its 66th episode with a recap of the hottest topics and current events from the previous week.
In case you missed it, the hosts opened up about Nipsey Hussle’s homegoing service, which was held at Los Angeles’ Staples Center. After the service, Hussle’s family, friends, and fans followed along a 25-mile procession through South L.A, stopping at city landmarks that were special to Hussle and his community.
However, in the wake of the beautiful ceremony, Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham sparked widespread controversy over her insensitive comments about the slain rapper, which were made in support of Donald Trump.
“Thousands lined the streets to say goodbye to rapper Nipsey Hussle,” Ingraham said. “This dear artist recently released a song, ‘FDT,’ “F Donald Trump’ – The refrain, the chorus, it goes on and on, is that related to the lowest unemployment ever, basically for African Americans.”
Although Ingraham’s insensitive remarks were bad enough, she capped it off with the fact that “FDT” was not Hussle’s song. While he was featured on the record, Ingraham displayed visuals of YG, which suggested that she didn’t know or care to correctly identify the slain rapper.
During the segment, Solo addressed the controversy and slammed Ingraham for choosing to highlight the negatives, despite the positive impact Hussle had on his community in Los Angeles and the world.
From there, the hosts divulged about Wendy Williams’ divorce drama, which recently hit the fan after the famed talk show host filed for divorce last week. However, despite the controversy, the hosts are not sympathetic.
“Talk about your problems like you talk about everyone else’s,” Burns said. “I guarantee you it will be therapeutic.”
As the segment continued, the hosts discussed R. Kelly, Tiger Woods, the movie “Little” and more.
In the next segment, Simmons shared this week’s Baller Mail about standards, and after that, Su shared the comment creepin’ disagreement between Karen Civil and Reggie Bush over his decision to start a GoFundMe in honor of Hussle’s kids.
Finally, as the episode wrapped, Kenfucious shared a few words of wisdom.
