Man Tried To Steal Halle Berry’s House With A Phony Deed, Accused Workers Of Trespassing

A man tried to steal Halle Berry’s Los Angeles home by creating a fake deed for her house. The scammer even brazenly hired a locksmith to get inside, according to Page Six.

Ronald Eugene Griffin, 59, was first spotted trespassing on Berry’s $3.8 million Italian style property in January but bolted when the star’s gardener approached him.

According to TMZ, citing law enforcement sources, he returned again in March with a locksmith and actually had one of the locks changed. When Griffin was confronted by Berry’s hired help, he brazenly called the cops, claiming the workers were trespassing.

Once officers arrived, they spotted his phony paperwork and arrested him on charges of procuring and offering a false warranty deed and petty theft.

Authorities told TMZ, Griffin didn’t even know it was Berry’s home until told my cops.

Griffin was arrested and charged with a felony count of procuring and offering a false warranty deed and an additional count of petty theft. His bond has been set at $36k.

This has happened to me with my family home in Kansas City, Mo. A man forged the deed using my deceased parents signatures.

My brother had to obtain an attorney, but no arrests yet with the forger, or notary public. Jackson County sheriff’s dept doesn’t seem too concerned.

The forger actually sold our family home to a company that then removed personal family items from the house.

Be cautious people and check with your tax assessor office. I have to show more ID to vote or get a replacement car title then these house thieves do to forge deeds.
