Stevie Wonder Pauses Scheduled Tour To Prepare For Kidney Transplant

Stevie Wonder will be taking a break from his scheduled tour to undergo a kidney transplant.

The legendary singer broke the news to fans during a concert at Hyde Park in London on Saturday and explained that he will only be performing in three more shows before his procedure.

“So what’s gonna happen is this: I’m going to have surgery. I’m going to have a kidney transplant in September of this year,” Wonder told the crowd. “You aint got to hear no rumors about nothing; I told you what’s up — I’m good.”

The 69-year-old thanked fans for their support and revealed that he already has a donor.

“I’m all good; I’m all good; I’m all good. I have a donor; it’s all good,” Wonder said. “I want you to know I came here to give you my love and to thank you for your love.”

While he hasn’t specified which shows will be postponed, his next show is scheduled for Tuesday in Dublin, Ireland.
