A white man got so angry with his black girlfriend, who reportedly wanted to role play as “slave and slavemaster,” that he ended up spitting in her face, which led to a response from Tampa police.
According to the NY Daily News, police in the Florida town of Bradenton were called to the home of Kenneth Atkins and Ashley Edwards, and upon arrival, found the pair “engaged in a verbal argument over refusal to role play.”
According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s office, “Ashley stated she wanted to play slave and slaver because she is African American and he is Caucasian,” the report stated. “Kenneth did not wish to partake and became verbally aggressive.”
As the confrontation escalated, Atkins allegedly spat in Edward’s face.
Atkins, who according to The Smoking Gun, has a lengthy rap sheet- ultimately denied getting physical with Edwards, but was arrested for simple battery shortly before 11 p.m. and brought to the Manatee County Central Jail.
Edwards, whom police said was not injured, refused to complete an affidavit and asked cops not to book Atkins on any charges.
