Police around the country have had to stop three, separate domestic terrorist attack plots.
If not for tips from the public, three more mass shootings in Connecticut, Florida, and Ohio would have taken place, authorities say. Three men, who were all young white men, were arrested Thursday and Friday in connection to the mass shootings. All three of the men posted text messages with threats of committing the terrorist attacks.
The attacks and arrests come amid the slew of recent mass shootings in the past two weeks, which occurred in California, Texas, and Ohio. People across the country have cried out or new legislation on stricter gun laws, especially since there have been several “copy-cat” mass shooting attempts around the nation.
22-year-old Brandon Wagshol of Norwalk orchestrated one of the three would-be shootings. Wagshol was arrested on four counts of illegal possession of large-capacity magazine, the city’s police department said Thursday. Wagshol was arrested after a joint investigation between Norwalk police and the FBI, following a tip that he was allegedly trying to buy high capacity rifle magazines out-of-state. Police said Wagshol purchased rifle parts online to build his own weapon and had posted on Facebook showing “his interest in committing a mass shooting.”
According to Norwalk police, after searching through Wagshol’s home, police found two guns registered to the shooter’s father, multiple rounds of ammunition, body armor, and other tactical equipment. The second terrorist was Tristan Scott Wix, 25, of Daytona Beach. Wix was arrested Friday and was charged with making threats to commit a mass shooting. Police said they found text messages with Scott alluding to his attack. “A school is a weak target.. id be more likely to open fire on a large crowd of people from over 3 miles away… I’d wanna break a world record for longest confirmed kill ever,” the sheriff’s department said Wix texted. Another text read: “But a good 100 kills would be nice. I already have a location (laughing cry face emoji) is that bad?”
The third terrorist was 20-year-old #JamesPReardon. An online video was posted of a man who identified himself as the shooter at a Jewish community center, which was an incident that had not happened yet, according to police. Reardon was arrested Friday on charges of telecommunications harassment and aggravated menacing, FBI Cleveland Division said. Reardon was arrested without incident and police said rounds of ammunition, semi-automatic weapons, and anti-Semitic information were found, USA Today reports.

Advocate violence in public forums, enough to get noticed, but hopefully not enough for long jail terms. Keep no weapons, be assured if one is found jail is also assured.
But the main thing is to divert resources, dilute the manpower to where not everyone can be pursued, allowing the serious folks that post minimally to have a chance to slip through.
