Gervonta “Tank” Davis can add Floyd Mayweather’s The Money Team to his title. After accompanying Pretty Boy Floyd on trips to NYC, D.C., Miami, St. Louis and Kansas City and observing Mayweather’s business dealings, the undefeated twenty year-old featherweight professional has now garnered the privilege of being taken under Mayweather’s wing. Davis who holds 11 wins, with ten being ruled as knock outs, sees his story as being “really big for the city of Baltimore, and proof that hard work can take you to the next level, no matter where you come from”. Davis’ last fight against Mexico’s Alberto “Ironman” Mora only required one minute and fifteen seconds before Davis was ruled victorious by TKO. Joining Floyd Mayweather and The Money Team’s training camp in Las Vegas, Nevada, it can only improve.
The agile boxer stated, “Floyd has taken an interest in me because he believes that I can be the next big star in boxing, and he knows I’ve put in work to be ready for that next level. Having an opportunity to travel with The Money Team has been a dream come true. I grew up watching all Floyd’s fights. He is a great teacher, and I’m learning a lot of positive things from him, especially about the business of boxing. He has built himself to be the richest athlete in sports. I feel truly blessed that he would want to give me advice that will help me in my career. He is the top boxer of my generation, both in and outside the ring. I’m going to listen to everything he says and share what I learn with the young fighters that come into the sport after me.”
What does this mean? With Mayweather’s last fight scheduled September 12th of this year, TMT may just have found their next boxing phenomenon. At the tender of twenty, Davis’ career as a boxer is just getting started although his skill set and technique is that of an experienced boxer. As Mayweather trains for his coup de grace this fall, one can only ponder if Tank will fill Pretty Boy Floyd’s shoes. How awesome would it be for Mayweather to leave his legacy as one of the greatest to ever do it and in turn train the next potential G.O.A.T.?
Davis’ story is one of true grit and tenacity. It is one of triumph and dedication. Follow his journey and be apart of history.

Stepping outside of the sports realm, it is always a wonderful thing to see mentorship. That extra bit of encouragement goes along way.
