Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Mason Rudolph Likely To Be Fined After Altercation With Myles Garrett

After an altercation with Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph will possibly be fined.

While the NFL hasn’t made an official announcement on Rudolph’s financial punishment, ESPN states that he will be fined. For a first-time fighting violation in the NFL, the fine is a whopping $35,096. Despite the fine, the NFL has stated that Rudolph will not be suspended for his role in the mayhem.

The brawl took place Thursday after Rudolph was tackled by Garret and began grabbing the lineman’s helmet. From there, the cruel fight continued into the endzone, where Garrett was seen taking off Rudolph’s helmet and slamming him with it.

Steelers’ QB Mason Rudolph, who was not suspended for his role in the fight, is expected to be fined for his role in Thursday night’s melee. The fine schedule calls for a player to be fined $35,096 for a first-time fighting offense.

Garrett, on the other hand, has been suspended indefinitely for his role in the aggression.

While representatives for Rudolph implied that he could pursue legal action against Garrett, the NFL announced that this is considered to be an NFL issue, and Rudolph will not be pressing charges.

After the game, Rudolph opened up about the incident, condemning Garrett for his actions without taking responsibility for his own. ”I thought it was cowardly and bush league. There is plenty of tape out there to watch. I haven’t seen it yet. I don’t know what the rules are. I know it was bush league and a total coward move on his part,” he said. ”It’s ok; I’ll take it. I’m not going to back down from any bully out there. We will see what happens.”

Others involved in the fight, such as Steelers center #MarukicePouncey, who threw punches and tried to stomp Garrett out, obtained a three-game suspension, while Browns defensive lineman #LarryOgunjobi acquired a one-game suspension.
