Bill Nye the Science Guy is taking his claims against The Walt Disney Company to trial. The popular 90’s TV moderator who was the host of the live-action kid-friendly science show, “Bill Nye The Science Guy” from 1993 to 1999, estimates that he is owed $28 million in damages from Disney. Allegedly, Nye was not appropriately paid after Disney demonstrated “a long and consistent pattern of under-reporting revenue and improperly applying deductions.”
However, in turn, Disney argued that Nye waited too long to act on his concerns. Nye responded by claiming that the quarterly profit statements he received during his tenure with Disney lacked detail, making it impossible to know whether or not they were accurate He also claimed that he was forced to spend his own money on an audit, under the false agreement that he’d be provided with the necessary records.
A trial date has been scheduled for May 2020 and is estimated to last ten days.
