Epix’s hit show “Godfather Of Harlem,” starring Forest Whitaker, has been given the green light for season two.
“Godfather of Harlem” was a successful hit due to strong word of mouth, which led to it become the network’s top series.
According to Deadline, while Epix doesn’t usually release viewership data, Epix President Michael Wright couldn’t help but brag with some ratings info when he announced the drama’s renewal.
“Godfather of Harlem season one was a remarkable success, tripling previous viewership numbers for the network and earning acclaim from both critics and viewers alike,” said Wright. “We couldn’t wait to reunite with Chris, Paul, Forest, and the team at ABC Signature to continue telling this compelling and extremely relevant story.”
The 10 episodes for season two are expected to begin production in New York City later this year.
