Kodak Black has admitted to a gun charge of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and will be sentenced late March.⠀⠀⠀⠀
On Thursday, Florida rapper Kodak Black reportedly admitted to a gun charge in a Niagara County Court, according to WKBW. Black, whose real name is Bill Kapri, pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He’s now looking at two to seven years in prison, which will go concurrently with his current federal gun possession sentence.⠀⠀
Kodak was among four men who were arrested back in April 2019. The men were taken into custody at the Lewiston Queenston Bridge at the U.S.-Canada border. Authorities launched an investigation to find the vehicles the men used and ended up finding four handguns, a loaded magazine cartridge, and a small amount of marijuana.
“Two vehicles occupied by U.S. Citizens were encountered at the Lewiston-Queenston Port of Entry. During the initial inspection, the U.S. citizens admitted to being in possession of marijuana and firearms. During a secondary inspection, it was revealed that the weapons were possessed unlawfully in New York State, and subsequently, the marijuana, firearms, and subjects were turned over to the New York State Police for further processing. U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations continuously works in collaboration with our law enforcement partners, which include federal, state, and local agencies,” said a spokesperson for Customs and Border Protection said in a statement last year.
Black and the men were all charged with felony possession of a weapon and other charges. Black is reportedly set to be sentenced on March 24.
