Nick Cannon dropped the trailer for his highly-anticipated documentary, “Strong Enemies: The Untold Case of Dr. Sebi,” on the first anniversary of Nipsey Hussle’s death.
Before his untimely death last March, Hussle was working on a documentary about Dr. Sebi’s trial and the controversy he faced after he claimed he could cure AIDS.
Nipsey told The Breakfast Club about his plans for the doc back in 2018.
“I’m working on doing a documentary on the trial in 1985…when Dr. Sebi went to trial against New York because he put in the newspaper, he cured AIDS.”After Hussle’s murder, Cannon vowed to finish the documentary and keep his voice alive.
“Where you left off, we gonna carry one! It’s a MARATHON, so I’m picking up the baton! Because they can’t kill us all,” Cannon said in a post following Hussle’s death. “Now, your message is my message! Your work is my work! I know you still rocking with us, and your voice will never be silenced because to be absent from the body is to be present with the Most High.”
There is no word on the official release date for the documentary. However, according to the trailer, the film features clips of past Dr. Sebi interviews, where he talks about curing multiple patients from AIDS. It also features appearances from Erykah Badu, Common, and Karen Civil discussing the Dr.’s vast contributions.
