Clayton County, Georgia, deputies found more than drugs during a recent drug-related raid. According to WBSTV, officials discovered Ku Klux Klan paraphernalia.

Tuesday evening, local Clayton County Sheriff Deputies raided a Jonesboro home and confiscated 6-7 ounces of methamphetamine, scales, drug bags, a gun, and thousands in cash. John Eric Spencer, 46, was taken into custody.

But what is also disturbing was the “shadow-boxed” original klansman suit found encased within a hallway wall, the sheriff reported. The displayed suit appeared to be between 60-70 years old.

Many neighbors were shocked to hear the discovery and told Channel 2’s Tom Jones; they would have never thought the suspect would have something like that inside. A Black neighbor said Spencer never showed any signs of animosity towards her and even helped fix her car.

“Something going on with my car or something, and he will come right on and fix it,’ she said. “He speaks to me. I’ve been going through some medical things. He checks on me, sees if I need anything.” A Hispanic neighbor even said he was friendly as they come.

A neighbor, who asked to remain anonymous, told the news outlet, “I’m shocked, I am shocked,” the unidentified neighbor said. “I’m thinking, “You’re sure that’s the right house?”

However, one other neighbor said it all makes sense after the time Spencer hung a noose on the street during Halloween. That rope was still on the property on the day of the raid.

Unfortunately, the KKK display is not illegal, but hopefully, the drug and weapons charges will stick.
