A suspect in the shooting death of an 8-year-old has turned himself in to the police, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.
Sercoriea Turner was shot and killed July 4 in Atlanta while sitting in the car with her mother and her mother’s friend as they attempted to turnaround in a parking lot that had a barricade.
A warrant was issued by the Atlanta Police Department for 19-year-old Julian Conley for aggravated assault and felony murder, according to department spokesman Anthony W. Grant.
Conley reportedly told Fox 5’s Angelique Proctor that he was present at the scene, witnessed the shooting, and had a gun on him but says that he did not pull the trigger.
“My client saw the deadly shooting but had no idea who pulled the trigger. We are not obligated to help police with their case. I am here to represent Mr. Conley,” Attorney Jackie Patterson stated.
Bond was denied for Conley.
