If you are an avid reader and/or a music junkie, then you probably would like to know that hip-hop legend and former president of Def Jam South, Brad “Scarface” Jordan has released the interesting memoir “ Diary of a Madman”.The world became familiar with Jordan when he emerged as one of the members of platinum-selling rap group, Geto Boys, credited for  pioneering the sound of southern rap.  His name continued to resonate in the industry with the hits “On My Block”, “Mind Playing Tricks On Me”, :Guess Who’s Back” and “Smile. His resume includes working with fellow legend, the late Tupac, as well as icons and business moguls , Kanye West and Jay Z.

“ Diary of a Madman”  journeys  back to Jordan’s youth in Houston where dropping out of high school as a freshman to sell crack was his reality. Jordan visits the first time he heard Run-DMC and the influence it had over him.  This is the exploration of Brad Jordan the person and Scarface, the legend. Jordan has never been secretive about the trials and tribulations he has endured. This is about the internal war he has had with depression and himself. This is about his career highs and life lows. It is a first hand account of the hip hop as an art form, business and culture. This is about his life .

Some can argue that is story may sound familiar to the common dope boy, but it isn’t. Every story is different. The details change.I am excited to read because I would like to know more about the relationship he has today with Rap-A-Lot Records versus the relationship he had then.
