Da Brat surprised LisaRaye on her Cocktails with Queens, and it did not go as planned. Unbeknownst to her co-hosts, it was apparent right away that the two had not been on the best of terms for some time.
LisaRaye was extremely shocked when Da Brat joined the virtual conversation and immediately began to cry. Da Brat explained that the two have not seen each other since COVID-19 has hit but that there is still love between them.
Around the six-minute mark, LisaRaye, who was obviously frustrated with the rapper for keeping her private life private after finding out she came out from the tabloids, finally spoke on how she felt, and things got awkward fast.
“I just want to know that you happy. And I did not want to just hear it from the blogs and from the interviews of people asking me questions, and I didn’t know what to say because I didn’t hear it from you,” LisaRaye said. “I got to see it someplace else. So I’m hurt. That’s what I am.”
“I just wish that I was included in that. I wish that I knew what that was. I wish that I could have a say in that myself. I wish that I knew what was going on, but I don’t. So then I sit, and I wait,” she continued. “But, I will say this — I am happy for you, I am glad that you are living in your truth, that right there we been talking about for years… I damn sure haven’t heard from you in months.”
Things took an even more awkward turn when LisaRaye started dropping f-bombs and letting her co-hosts know that she doesn’t care what they think, adding that she is hurt.
Da Brat came out in March, confirming her relationship with Kaleidoscope Hair Products CEO Jessica Dupart via a sweet Instagram post showing off her early birthday gift — a brand new Bentley, complete with a red bow.
Hopefully, the two sisters can work things out.
I love these two ladies right here. Especially LisaRaye. I pray that whatever is going on with them can be mended.
