According to Bloomberg News, the Senior White House staff kept the news of Hope Hicks’ positive coronavirus test a secret.

Initially, only a small circle of people knew that Hicks had tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, a source confirmed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Apparently, the senior staff wanted to keep this information from being made public.

According to a spokesperson for the White House, it was up to Hicks if she wanted to make her personal health information public, the spokesperson told The Hill.

After Hicks’ diagnosis, the White House staff wanted to prepare for any chance that Trump were to test positive for the virus. However, the same day, he continued with his Thursday schedule, traveling to and from New Jersey for two campaign events. Hours later, Trump and his wife Melania Trump, announced that they had tested positive for the virus.

On Wednesday, some of the aides close to Trump had sensed that he was not feeling well, and some of the aides were not made aware of Trump testing positive until Friday morning.

The Celebrity in Chief and the First Lady say they are “feeling good” and quarantining. With the election just a month away on Nov 3, all of Trump’s upcoming campaign events have been canceled.
