Officers Who Murdered George Floyd Fear For Their Safety, Want Change of Trial Venue

The four ex-police officers who were not afraid to take the life of George Floyd as he lay on the ground defenseless are now ironically requesting a change of venue for their trial out of fear of angry crowds.

Alexander Kueng filed a motion on behalf of himself and his fellow murderers, Derek Chauvin, Tou Thao, and Thomas Lane, pleading with the court to move the trial out of Hennepin County. Kueng claims that all four of them and their attorneys were victims of a dangerous situation outside the courthouse last month following a hearing. He alleges that Thao was followed for several blocks by protesters when he left court. Kueng claims that Lane was also physically assaulted.

In docs obtained by TMZ, Kueng is even seeking protection for Chauvin, the officer who held his knee on Floyd’s neck for 8 minutes until he died, claiming he was subjected to “humiliation by being paraded in public dressed in jail clothes and body armor.”

The other ex-cops have also filed similar motions to move the trial due to harassment. They are also concerned that a fair trial is impossible, as a jury will be persuaded by the crowds stationed outside of the courthouse.

The harassment pales in comparison to the torture that was inflicted upon George Floyd, who was unarmed and posing no threat to the officers at the time of his death.

A judge has yet to rule on the change of venue.
