Kanye West is not giving up on becoming the next President. However, he may be willing to take a detour to the Vice President position if it means that the Democrats don’t make it to the White House.
‘Ye has been nominated as running mate alongside a little known candidate named Rocky De La Fuente, who is also running for President as a part of the American Independent Party. However, neither the AIP nor De La Fuente ran the VP nomination by West nor has he spoken out in support of it.
Vice-Chairman of the AIP, Markham Robinson, told TMZ that the party’s leaders nominated West to be on the ticket with De La Fuente in late August during their state convention. Robinson feels that the two would be the perfect combination to get votes away from Biden.
While TMZ reports that De La Fuente is not thrilled about having West as his VP, he realizes that the sneaker mogul is popular with voters in the 18-25 demographic.
West has not commented on the VP nomination as he continues his own quest to presidency. The rapper has reportedly paid between $3.5 million and $4.5 million to get on the ballot in just twelve states.
