Christian “King” Combs has released his single “LEGACY” that pays tribute to his late mother, Kim Porter.
Back in 2018, the world was distraught after news broke that longtime model and beloved mother, Kim Porter had died in her sleep. NBC News reports that that woman suffered from a lung infection. The Combs family’s mourning is now being expressed by Christian in his new single.
The song includes no hooks and details about how Christian is dealing with the world following his mother’s passing, a press release states. “He taps into his personal life with the world on this song, King Combs is locked in and says he is applying the pressure as a rapper and there is no room for failure. He also talks about the road and hustle to continuing his dad’s (Sean “Diddy” Combs Bad Boy) legacy, and most importantly creating his own,” reads the press release.
In addition, the music video includes photos and videos of him and Porter. He also takes a moment to honor Colin Kaepernick and the Black Lives Matter movement.
Aside from making music, Christian also just debuted his Savage Fenty collaboration with Rihanna, which sold out in minutes. The line was co-designed alongside Rih.
