A precious newborn baby lost her life in Las Vegas over the weekend after her father threw her off a second story balcony during a dispute with the infants mom.
According to People, 32 year old Clarence Martin, Jr., has been charged with open murder for allegedly throwing his infant daughter from a balcony during an argument with his fiancée, the infant’s mother.
London Martin was nearly two months old when she was killed Saturday morning shortly before 4 a.m. Officers who responded to a domestic disturbance call, arrived on the scene and “located the infant and her mother, who was performing CPR” on the baby.
Martin allegedly fled the scene as officers were arriving. The couple’s downstairs neighbor told police she heard screaming and banging coming from the upstairs apartment and looked out and saw Martin, allegedly leaving the apartment screaming, “Burn, [expletive], burn. This is what you get for cheating on me.” The cops reported that he also started a fire inside of the couple’s apartment so damaging that the family’s dog perished.
Martin’s fiancé told police that he had a history of “mental issues” and had not eaten or slept in the days leading up to the dispute. She also told officers she awoke Saturday morning to Martin kicking her and London, who was asleep with her on the bed. To avoid an argument, she took the baby into the living room, but Martin allegedly followed and snatched the baby from her before stepping out on the balcony, returning moments later without the child.
The frantic woman ran out of the apartment to check on the baby to get her and a neighbor helped her call 911.
A GofundMe page set up for funeral expenses displayed a loving message in memory of the newborn. “You will always hold a special place in all our hearts,” reads the page. “You were treasured and loved before we even knew you sweet baby girl. Even if for only a short time, you were our beautiful little princess.”
