Something suspicious is going on.
There is a new film in the works that consists of never before seen footage from Drake’s 2009 sold-out concert at Toronto’s Sound Academy, just before signing his major deal with Cash Money. According to the film’s official website, Rap-A-Lot and AMG are involved and it even features exclusive interviews with James Prince and his son Jas (the latter who’s credited for discovering Drake). With Rap-A-Lot, AMG and the Prince’s involvement, you would think this would be as legit as it gets. However, for some odd reason, Drake is claiming he isn’t involved.
Yesterday Drizzy took to Twitter to clear any confusion. “The Drake Homecoming film is not something OVO or Drake have any part in. I feel it is my responsibility to inform and protect my fans,” he tweeted.
Now why would Drake be turning his back on a project that Rap-A-Lot is affiliated with, considering how close he is to them? If it were an issue with him not knowing, or not getting paid, I’d assume he could call them up personally and discuss, not make a public announcement for his millions of followers. I’d hate to speculate that it has anything to do with Jas kicking it with Chris Brown heavily the past couple of weeks but then again, rappers can be petty too. I know I personally would never make an announcement like that on Twitter due to how it would make my friends appear.
Read the film’s synopsis below and check out Drake’s tweet. Is there something brewing behind the scenes?
