“Black-Ish” star Marsai Martin has been declared the world’s youngest executive producer by Guinness World Records.

Martin earned the title for her executive producing of 2019’s “Little,” which she also starred in.  The film hit theaters when Martin was almost 15-years-old. However, Guinness World Records officially named her the record holder this month after confirming the evidence she submitted for the title. The record acknowledges that Martin was only 14 years and 241 days old when the film was released.

The now 16-year-old was honored to receive the record, calling the declaration “insane.”

“It feels crazy, honestly. A world record? That’s insane.” Martin said in a video of her certificate presentation before adding, “To be able to create a film, to star in it and be with your favorite stars, and actually seeing that entire experience was so amazing.”

Martin initially pitched “Little” to the film’s producer Kenya Barris when she was just 10-year-old. He eventually accepted the pitch, which led to the teenager inking a deal with Universal Pictures in 2019 to develop other films.  Under this deal, Martin and her production company, Genius Productions, is currently working on “StepMonster,” a comedy about a teenage girl adjusting to life with her new stepmother.

“She is not only tremendously talented in front of the camera, but offers a unique perspective as a creator and producer that will resonate with all audiences,” said Peter Cramer, president of Universal Pictures, in a statement to CNN.

Martin is set to appear in the 2021 edition of the physical Guinness World Records book.
