Things won’t let up for former NFL player Hugh Douglas, who had a 10-year NFL career with the New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars. Hugh’s mistress claims that he assaulted her several times and he’s refusing to turn over the incriminating evidence to prove it. One incident, in particular, took place at a Connecticut hotel September 2013. Hope Davila, Douglas’ mistress of 8 months, says Douglas picked her up by her neck and slammed her head into the hotel wall. Douglas was arrested and charged with felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault which led to a judge sentencing him to a 2-year probation program.
After his sentencing Davila took Douglas to court, asking that he pay for physical and emotional damages. Douglas fired back saying that Davila suffered no injuries from him. He claims he did not remove Davila from a hotel elevator by her neck and carry her, with her feet dangling, back to his hotel room — as she claims. He also claims he never banged her head against the hotel wall. In court he said the injuries Davila sustained were from rough sex. Ehhh…either way, he’s already been convicted of doing it. Sounds to me like he just doesn’t want to pay.
Davila filed docs on February 16th saying that Douglas is playing dirty and needs to be sanctioned by the court to all communications he had with another person regarding the hotel incident, all names of people who have accused him of assault or battery, tax returns for the years 2011 – present and all documents pertaining to his termination from ESPN in 2013 — and she says this is a violation of the courts order to exchange discovery. She also claims Douglas has refused to sit down for a deposition.
Douglas was fired by ESPN in 2013 after allegedly threatening to beat up co-worker Michael Smith and hurling racial slurs at him, calling him an “Uncle Tom” and a “House N—-.”
