Simon & Schuster Cancels Sen. Josh Hawley’s Book ‘After His Role’ in Inciting Riot At The Capitol

Publishing house Simon & Schuster has canceled Missouri Senator Josh Hawley‘s book after he was seen raising his fist in a show of solidarity with pro-Trump supporters on Wednesday before they stormed the U.S. Capitol.

According to People, Simon and Schuster announced that they had canceled Hawley’s would-be book entitled “The Tyranny of Big Tech” via their Twitter account, explaining their staff “did not come to this decision lightly.”

“After witnessing the disturbing, deadly insurrection that took place on Wednesday in Washington, D.C., Simon & Schuster has decided to cancel publication of Senator Josh Hawley’s forthcoming book,” the statement said.

The 41-year-old republican Senator objected to the certification of President-elect Joe Biden’s election victory by touting baseless claims of voter fraud.

Hawley was seen raising a fist to pro-Trump supporters at the Capitol before the riots that disrupted the Senate’s process happened on Wednesday, which led to five people’s deaths, including a Capitol Police officer.

“As a publisher, it will always be our mission to amplify a variety of voices and viewpoints,” the statement added, “at the same time we take seriously our larger public responsibility as citizens, and cannot support Senator Hawley after his role in what became a dangerous threat to our democracy and freedom,” the publishing house said.

Hawley took to Twitter last night to lament the publisher’s decision saying, “Simon & Schuster is canceling my contract because I was representing my constituents, leading a debate on the Senate floor on voter integrity, which they have now decided to redefine as sedition,” he said in a statement. “This is the Left looking to cancel everyone they don’t approve of.”
