Federal marshals have arrested a Florida man authorities say is the person seen in a viral photo carrying House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s lectern through the Capitol during Wednesday’s riot.
Adam, 36, of Parrish, Florida, was taken into custody and held at the Pinellas County Jail, according to reports. Authorities say he is the man seen smiling and waving at a camera while holding the lectern and wearing a Trump hat. Reports also say he posted photos from inside the Capitol to social media before the account was deleted.
It was not immediately known whether Adam has an attorney, and a response from him was not available. Authorities say more arrests are expected as they work to identify others who took part in the riot. It was also unclear whether the lectern had been recovered. Charges are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
