It’s become a normal occurrence for one to do the absolute most to salvage their relationship. However, consequences always follow.
According to ABC 30, criminal charges were filed Thursday against a Sandra Garcia, 40, who was accused of organizing a 13-year-old girl’s kidnapping and torture in an effort to save her relationship with the teen’s father.
Officials state, the accused recruited her cousin and her son to help scare the young girl and get her sent away from her father’s house. Apparently, the family used a burner app to communicate in secret and try to erase their electronic trail, but they still left a trace and investigators followed it.
It all started when the school bus dropped off the 13-year-old at her house north of Clovis in February. The girl’s dad wasn’t home; however, four masked men were inside waiting for her. They put her in the trunk of a car, according to reports, took her to a remote location, stripped her, beat her and left her for dead.
Garcia was arrested in March, but she bailed out.
The mastermind and the girl’s father had been on bad terms for a while; investigators revealed Garcia believed the kidnapping would bring them closer together, instead, she’s been slapped with several charges.
Garcia, Miguel Carriedo and Mark Anthony Roque are all charged with kidnapping, torture, and conspiracy.
