A scary situation near Nashville ended with a man shot and a woman safe. According to Metro Nashville police documents, a woman in Goodlettsville, Tennessee shot her ex boyfriend, a 52 year old man named Tony Joe, after finding him hiding under her bed.
Police documents say the woman had a restraining order against Tony Joe and that he violated it three times by forcing his way into her home. Neighbors told local reporters they had seen police come to the house in response to domestic violence calls. The woman reportedly added security after changing her locks twice.
On Tuesday, an ADT technician was at the home installing a security system. Around 3 pm, the woman went into her bedroom to get her cell phone, which had gone missing. According to reports, she saw a man’s feet sticking out from under the bed, grabbed her gun and shot him in the leg. She got her phone back and kept him there while the technician called police.
Tony Joe was arrested and is charged with aggravated burglary, along with charges tied to violating the restraining order and stalking. Police documents say he admitted breaking in and taking the phone to keep the woman from calling for help. He is being held on a $165,000 bond. Authorities said the woman will not face charges. The charges against him are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
