Nike says it is not involved with Lil Nas X‘s “Satan Shoes” that reportedly contain human blood.

Ever since Lil Nas X dropped his video for his hit song “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” he’s been in the headlines. And now he’s making news for his new line of shoes that reportedly contain human blood.

The shoe line is a collaborative effort between Nas X and streetwear company MSCHF, and they are based on the theme of his controversial music video. The kicks were named “Satan Shoes,” and only 666 pairs went on sale on Monday. According to NBC News, the sneakers contain a drop of human blood in the sole; the blood was drawn from the MSCHF team members. Also, the shows are designed with a pentagram pendant and reference the Bible verse Luke 10:18, which discusses Satan’s fall from heaven.

The outlet reports the shoes were apparently modified Nike Air Max 97s. Many online called out Nike and the rapper. Nike responded to the criticism saying it took no part in the shoe’s creation and highlighted that the show is merely a custom adaptation of one of its shoes.

“We do not have a relationship with Little Nas X or MSCHF,” Nike said in a statement. “Nike did not design or release these shoes, and we do not endorse them.”

The shoes sold out in under a minute.

These #SatanShoes by #Nike & #LilNasX with 666 and a drop of human blood in the sole is a reason why we Christians must be prayed up ready to battle in the spirit with the Voice of the Holy Spirit. This is evil & heresy and I pray that Christians rise up against this. pic.twitter.com/u7CK3NCIy7
