If I See Red, It Ain’t Dead: 53 Percent Of People Claim How You Like Your Steak Cooked Is A Deal-Breaker In Dating

A survey shows more than 53 percent of people wouldn’t date someone over how they like their steak cooked.

It’s already hard out there in the dating game. People can be judged over anything these days, including how someone likes their steak cooked. In a recent survey of 2,000 respondents, 53 percent said they wouldn’t date a person who wanted their steak cooked differently than they do. OnePoll conducted the poll on behalf of JBS USA.

For people specifically in the Northeast, 59 percent of them say they would judge anyone over their steak preferences regardless if they are interested in the person romantically or not. People in the Midwest say their judgment level is medium but not rare. Sixty-two percent say they could care less about how a steak is cooked and will eat it nonetheless. However, they say they more than likely won’t leave the decision up to anyone else.

But, three out of four Midwesterners say they don’t get blue about the situation because they’d rather take on cooking the steaks themselves, especially at family gatherings or barbecues. PEOPLE reports steak eaters in the Northeast eat steak more often than anywhere else in the country, showing that steak consumption is seven times higher than the national average of five. And well, they aren’t done. They are also the region that eats most of it as well, about 16 ounces a month more than Southerners who eat 13 ounces a month. Westerners eat 11 ounces a month, and Midwesterners eat 10 ounces a month.

Ironically, the Northeast eats the most steak, but cooking steak is a rare occasion for them. One out of five Northeasterners says they’ve never actually prepared a steak on their own.

How do you like your steak cooked? Blue Rare, Rare, Medium Rare, Medium, Medium Well, or Well Done?

Medium well steak is the perfect balance depending on the restaurant. Medium is good as long as there’s no blood in it. Those who eat raw erm erm rare stake are undercover vampires.
