Roc-A-Fella Sues Dame Dash To Stop The Sale Of “Reasonable Doubt” As An NFT

Roc-A-Fella is going after Dame Dash, suing one of its own founders in a first-of-its-kind lawsuit that claims Dash is trying to auction off one of Jay-Z’s debut albums, “Reasonable Doubt” as an NFT.

According to TMZ, Roc-A-Fella is trying to knock Dame’s hustle for allegedly trying to mint “Reasonable Doubt” as a non-fungible token and auction it off to the highest bidder. Roc-A-Fella believes this is a violation as the classic album is a piece of hip-hop history that the company owns, and Dame doesn’t have the right to sell it.

Court documents filed by high-powered attorney Alex Spiro reveal that Dash was in the process of selling the album as an NFT at a since-canceled auction. The record company is worried that he will try to find another platform to make the sale.

In the suit, the company claims Dash is “frantically scouting for another venue to make the sale” and believes he is still looking to cash in ASAP on the recent NFT trend. Roc-A-Fella wants the court to step in and stop Dash. They also want the court’s help in getting him to turn over any NFTs of “Reasonable Doubt” he may have already minted.
