As we previously reported, Fred Smoot (formerly of the Washington Redksins) is being accused of attacking his girlfriend Valerie Jackson, whom he happened to be cheating on. Now new details regarding the incident have emerged.
35 year old Fred Smoot was arrested on misdemeanor simple assault on Sunday morning. He was later released on $2,500 bond and Jackson obtained a restraining order.
Here’s what allegedly happened. Valerie Jackson tells police that Smoot pushed her against the wall in their bathroom when she tried to grab the keys to his truck so she could drive it to work. She says it was at this time that he scratched her knuckles and stomach and also ripped her shorts in the crotch area. She also says that he came through the door to come after her. This explains the holes in her door (previously posted). Valerie continues to say that she was able to run outside to a neighbor’s home but no one answered the door. Eventually she claims she got back in her house and called cops and hid in a closet until police arrived.
What was in the truck, you ask? Remember those condoms and viagra pills? Yep! Valerie says that she found the items after cops arrived and believes that is the reason Fred Smoot was trying to keep her out of the car. I’m assuming her finding those items is what triggered her to finally post photos of past abuse to Instagram.
