A 28-year-old man was shot in the leg just after 10 p.m. Wednesday after gunmen held up diners eating outside Philippe Chow on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
Two masked gunmen hopped out of a dark-colored SUV and approached two men at dining separate tables outside. One of the men had his Rolex watch stolen, and the other man was shot after struggling with one of the suspects and grabbing the gun during the robbery attempt.
The suspect dropped the gun and fled once the gun went off.
“We believe the patrons have no connection to another, the two perps come out, they go right to the tables that each individual was sitting at, we believe this is a robbery for high-end jewelry,” said NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig.
No arrests have been made so far.
