A mother of three recently told CNN that she checked on her kids “every two weeks” after the body of one of her sons was discovered in the home.
During an exclusive interview, Gloria Y. Williams, 35, told KHOU from jail that she had no idea her 8-year-old son was dead.
On Sunday, the children, ages 7, 9, and 15, were discovered in a Houston apartment, along with the remains of the fourth child.
According to the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, the child’s cause of death was “homicidal violence with multiple blunt force injuries.”
Sgt. Dennis Wolford, the sheriff’s homicide unit’s lead investigator, stated in a press conference that he believes the boy died around Thanksgiving.
Williams told KHOU that when asked what happened, she answered, “I’m sorry. I didn’t do it.”
According to a criminal complaint, Williams intended to “alter, destroy, and conceal… a human corpse.”
Court documents say that Williams was charged with injury to a child by omission, injury to a child causing significant bodily injury, and tampering with evidence involving a human corpse.
For those offenses, a $900,000 bond has been set.
Brian W. Coulter, her boyfriend, has been charged with murder in the killing of the 8-year-old child.
According to charging documents filed by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Coulter, 31, committed a “felony offense of injury to a child by intentionally, knowingly, and recklessly causing bodily injury” by striking the child with his hand and kicking the child with his foot, resulting in death.
Coulter’s bail has been set at $1 million. He is banned from having any contact with Williams or anybody under the age of 17.
