A Wisconsin mother of four died of COVID-19 shortly after having an emergency C-section to deliver her youngest.
Adrienne Chandler, 38, passed away on November 30, three days after baby Roman was born. According to a GoFundMe created on behalf of her children, the baby is doing well.
“Adrienne Chandler was a beautiful human being,” organizer Lauren Klebba wrote. “She was known for her contagious laugh, being a friend who would be there for you no matter what, being a wonderful cook, having a heart of gold, and most importantly, she was the most amazing mother- not only to her own kids but every kid she met.”
David Henderson, her ex-husband and father to her older three children, told WDJT that Chandler began experiencing COVID symptoms about two weeks before being hospitalized. Her condition deteriorated the weekend before her death.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Chandler died from the coronavirus. She was unvaccinated, according to the medical examiner.
“I expected to be jointly raising these kids long into adulthood and both of us using our life experiences to guide them along this crazy ride of life we have,” Henderson wrote on Facebook. “Going forward without her raising these kids will be challenging, and I am not sure I can fill the void of how much love she had for them I will try and do my best.”
So far, the GoFundMe has raised nearly $16,000 toward its $50,000 goal to help care for Chandler’s children with Henderson and her newborn with boyfriend Ryan Emperley.
