Fetty Wap admitting he purchased 72 whips for his friends will likely not sit well with his baby mamas, who have labeled him a “dead beat.”Â
The “My Way” crooner sat down with Akademiks’ Off The Record Podcast, where he dished on taking care of his closest friends and purchasing them all new vehicles after breaking into the scene in 2015 with his now diamond-certified record, “Trap Queen.”
“At that time, bro, like I said, I just wanted everybody to be happy. I felt like in order for me to still be—even though it still happened, unfortunately, in order for me to try to take control of what was going on in my area, I felt like I had to show people… Just because I made it, doesn’t mean you didn’t,” he told Ak.
Fetty’s revelation to Akademiks is a continuance of his recent comments on other platforms, where he has been transparent about the dark times following his debut success. During a previous interview with Fat Joe, he revealed financial difficulties and career pressure caused him to fall into a depression.
Fetty is currently facing a federal drug case that could see him spending decades behind bars if convicted. The 30-year-old appeared optimistic about his possible sentence recently, writing on his IG Story, “if it ain’t life it ain’t forever I’ll be back better wiser and smarter.”
