A 16-year-old who worked at a South Phoenix McDonald’s was fatally shot inside the restaurant on Wednesday.
Prince Nedd was shot near 51st Avenue and Baseline Road around 10:15 a.m.
Responding officers found Nedd, who had been shot possibly inside the restroom, Phoenix police spokesperson Sgt. Vincent Cole said during a news conference.
Nedd died on the scene.
Witnesses told police he was fighting another male that he possibly knew.
Police started searching for the male suspect early Wednesday afternoon and said there was no threat to the public.
The McDonald’s location owner and operator Travis Heriaud said in a statement that it was an employee who was killed at the location.
“We are saddened by the tragic loss of our friend and colleague. Our organization’s biggest priority is always the safety and well-being of our employees and customers at our restaurants. We are fully cooperating with the police department and their investigation,” Heriaud said.
