Nick Cannon’s daytime talk show has reportedly been canceled just six months after airing.
According to Page Six, sources say Nick’s show is removed after suffering low ratings with “no signs of growth.” The show ranks approximately 400,000 viewers, making it the lowest-rated talk show.
In addition, the source also claims the staffers haven’t been made aware of the cancellation. However, many of them were already looking for new jobs because of the struggling outlook of the show.
Nick won over producers after impressing them when he guest-hosted Wendy Williams’s show during her absence in 2020. Nick was even in talks about becoming Wendy’s permanent replacement but snagged his own show instead.
Ironically, Nick seemingly blames the ending of Wendy’s show as a reason for his talk show’s downfall. According to the Sun US, Nick was “pissed” that Wendy’s show was canceled. This could be because his talk show aired immediately after hers, which would’ve brought in more viewers.
“He is relying on Wendy to give his new show a huge lead-in audience,” the Sun US wrote.
Debmar-Mercury, the company responsible for the show, declined to comment on the situation. Nick and his team haven’t released a statement regarding the cancellation.
Following news of the show’s cancellation, Nick Cannon spoke with Angela Yee telling the Breakfast Club co-host that new things are on the horizon.
