Although Meek Mill donated to the Flint water crisis, visited local schools and gave motivational speeches, the judge says that isn’t enough, and he’ll have to spend one last week on house arrest.
You may recall the judge sentenced Meek to house arrest and gave him 90 days to complete community service. That community service was to include working with the homeless, Habitat for Humanity or senior citizens and veterans. Although Meek did some great community work, it doesn’t fall within the parameters that were outlined in his paperwork. Also, Meek only worked six days per week, which apparently wasn’t enough. According to Meek’s camps, the type of work wasn’t specified, however it’s supposedly documented clear as day.
Because of the screw up, Meek’s house arrest will be extended another eight days to allow him to complete the right kind of community service. Meek was originally supposed to get off house arrest yesterday (Wednesday).
I feel that Meek did do some good, and should receive credit for that. However, not paying attention to the parameters of his judgement is what got him in this mess in the first place. Because people weren’t on top of his travel requirements, he landed back in jail. He really needs someone on his team to stay on top of this and go through all his legal issues with a fine tooth comb.
