Police in Arizona arrested a man they say admitted to fatally stabbing his father after refusing to pay for the son’s groceries.
43-year-old Jason Jeschor was taken into custody after 77-year-old Edgar G. Jeschor was found dead Friday in Jeschor’s apartment.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Jeschor is accused of second-degree murder and evidence tampering after the elder Jeschor went to his son’s apartment around noon on Thursday to take him to the grocery store.
Police responded after multiple requests to perform a wellness check after family members failed to get in contact with the older man.
Cops went to the apartment, and the younger Jeschor opened the door. According to the affidavit, when asked where his father was, the son “stated he was in the bathroom, and he did not think he was doing well.”
The younger man said that while visiting a grocery store the previous day, his father had refused to pay when the son discovered he didn’t have enough money on his debit card to cover the bill. At the apartment afterward, he allegedly “admitted to stabbing the victim with a homemade spear-like object in an ear and then stabbing him multiple times in the neck with a switchblade knife,” the affidavit detailed.
