New details have emerged about Rod Wave and his recent arrest in Florida.
Wave shared a video on May 2nd, which showed police lights and indicated that he was being pulled over in Pinellas County following a traffic infraction. However, officers located a warrant out of Osceola County and took him into custody on a charge of battery by strangulation. A new arrest affidavit unveiled this week reveals that Wave is being accused of choking the mother of his children, whom he was with for four years.
The incident occurred on April 24th when Wave showed up at the unnamed woman’s home while she was asleep. According to the victim, the “Heart On Ice” singer choked her as she laid in bed until she could not breathe because he believed she was dating other men. She claimed their two children were inside their bedroom at the time. Wave left but returned shortly after, accusing his ex-girlfriend of stealing his cell phone. He then kicked storage shelves by the front door and snatched two photos from the wall before tossing them onto the porch and sidewalk. Police responded to the home after two 911 calls from the victim, but by that time, the 22-year-old was gone.
Authorities observed a scratch located “near the left-center” of the victim’s neck, but she declined medical treatment. Police didn’t catch up with Wave until about a week later. He has since been released on a $5,000 bond.
Rod Wave nor his representatives have commented publicly on the case.
