Whew, chile! A love affair turned deadly in Houston after a man was shot and killed by a woman claiming to be his wife after he brought home another woman. Things took a twisted turn after a third woman came forward claiming to be the man’s actual wife.
Karin Stewart, 51, was arrested after shooting and killing a man she identified as her “husband” after learning of his love for another woman. When police arrived at the scene they found James Hargrove suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He later succumbed to his injuries at a Houston hospital.
When questioned, Stewart told cops the man was her husband and she shot him after he told her he was in love with another woman. The other woman was also at the home and witnessed the shooting, escaping unharmed. The unnamed other girlfriend told officers she thought James and Stewart were in an open relationship and he brought her to the home so the two could finally meet, the NY Post reports
The story gets better. During Stewart’s Monday court hearing, another woman– Sandra Hargrove— showed up and identified herself as James’ real wife. She told reporters she and James had been married since 2009 but separated in November. Despite the split, the two spoke daily and even considered reconciling, she said. She also claimed she did not know about James’ other women.
Sandra revealed James had recently recovered from covid-19, after spending four months in a coma. Additionally, she said he was paralyzed for a year, had two heart attacks, a stroke and kidney failure.
In the meantime, Stewart remained in jail on $75,000 bond and is due back in court August 17.
