NASCAR superstar Tony Stewart will take back to the track three weeks after he was involved in a fatal accident during a race on August 9th. Tony Stewart will race in the Oral-B USA 500 at Atlanta this holiday weekend. Tony must have realized that not racing puts his baller status in serious jeopardy. Tony Stewart has 48 career Cup wins in 542 starts and is worth is 70 million dollars.
Stewart fatally struck driver Kevin Ward Jr. who emerged from his vehicle after a crash and attempted to confront Stewart on the track during a race. The 20 year old died of severe blunt force trauma. NASCAR has announced a rule that prohibits drivers from exiting from a crashed or disabled vehicle — unless it is on fire — until safety personnel arrive.
The accident has not boded well for Stewart’s racing future because many people in the media have speculated, if this crash was an accident. Stewart is known for being a hothead and not playing fair with others.
Stewart’s only comment since the crash was a statement the day after the crash in which he said “there aren’t words to describe the sadness I feel about the accident that took the life of Kevin Ward Jr.”
Stewart has kept a low profile, while his case is still an ongoing investigation by the Ontario County Sheriff.
